MLM Success on the Web

There are few certainties in life…there are even less in marketing! Now that you have gotten your business off the ground you may be starting to bring in some money. It may be a little but it may be a lot (I hope its a lot!). Either way its smart to start keeping track of your earnings and expenses now. If you wait until later its a painful process of looking through bank statements and sifting through your credit card bill (I can tell you from experience it stinks!).

My personal method is keeping an excel spreadsheet of ever dollar I make and every dollar I spend, then at the end of the year I just total it up and use that for my taxes. This topic can be a little more complicated that that so it’s good to consult an expert. Google adWords is a great tool for Internet marketers – if used properly. I know I personally have lost hundreds of dollars using Google adWords because I just started doing it with no knowledge of how it worked. This is a really quick way to lose a lot of money. You can throw up an ad in minutes and the cost of each click starts rolling. If you are not targeting good keywords and not writing good ads you can easily see the balance go up and up with no leads at all.

adWords is also a great way to make a lot of money, you just need the training behind you to actually make it work. Once you have solid training behind you can really make this tool work for you. I mean who wouldn’t want their web site listed on google, of course you would. You just want it done right. Whether you use this or any other adwords training, I support that decision 100%. Just don’t jump in with your eyes closed and pray for money – trust me it won’t work. You and your bank account won’t be happy.

In Network Marketing, the most important thing is to have a system that is easily duplicated. Why? The whole concept of Network Marketing is based on helping others to build their own business. As other people in your group build their businesses yours naturally builds itself. If you have a system that works already you can share that with everyone in your group and they can duplicate your system.

Now how to you create your system? Well, the best way is to find a sponsor who has a system that is already working and to duplicate it. Use their system to build your business and share it with everyone in your group. Now, you can create your own system entirely BUT using an already proven strategy will reduce the time you spend getting started. It could take months or even years to create your own strategy. Why not just benefit off of a system that is already working? That is the overall concept in Network Marketing anyway. So why not put it to good use.

What systems work? Many many different systems work well. There are so many ways to make this business successful. An expert network marketing sponsor will be able to share with you their system and you can copy it identically or tweak it with your own personal style. The internet has become a powerful tool in network marketing systems and many expert network marketing sponsors are using it to their advantage. When you are thinking of joining an opportunity, ask your potential sponsor if they use the internet in their system.

How can you find a sponsor? Many expert network marketing sponsors write blogs which showcase their knowledge and expertise. Visit a few blogs and read them regularly to get a feel for their style and personality. Then when you feel comfortable reach out to them and ask the questions you need answered. Most people are very open to hearing from you and want to talk to you so don’t worry about that!

A great sponsor will act as a mentor and a coach. For example, in my group every new person in the business gets to have a personal once a week coaching session on the phone to help you get started. You are also provided with training materials that are unique to my specific system. These are things you should look for when choosing your sponsor. There are so many tools you can use to support your network marketing and internet marketing business. I have compiled a list of the tools that I personally use. I’ve tried alot of things and these are the best. There is a lot of junk out there so be careful what you spend your money on…I hope these tools help you as much as they have helped me!

I have had great success with all of these tools. There are many tools like these from other companies but these are the tools that I personally have had success with and would suggest these to everyone in my downline.

Having a marketing plan and a business plan is essential to your success in any business. In internet marketing there are a lot of day to day tasks that must be done in order to achieve your monetary goals. This is why it is important to create a daily marketing plan in writing. You want something to keep you on track everyday.

Next to my computer I keep a notebook which has a list of the tasks I must complete everyday. Yours might look like this:

1. Make 10 forum postings on Forum A, B, & C
2. Write 2 articles and submit to article website A, B, & C
3. Make 1 blog posting.

The list should go on like this one. The specific tasks may depend on your particular target market but these are just some common actions to complete in internet marketing. This is almost like a daily marketing to do list. As you complete each item on the list you can cross it out and move on to the next action.

Having this plan in writing is very helpful because it keeps your plan in tact and keeps you on track with your plan. It’s easy to miss things when it’s not written on a detailed list in front of you. Your success in internet marketing relies on your ability to follow through with these kinds of activities. It is of the utmost importance that you get these tasks done.

As you do your everyday marketing tasks your efforts build on top of each other day by day increasing traffic to your site. Since it’s a gradual process you need to keep on track with your plan. Missing a few things here and there will make a difference in the long run.

This is how I am successful and keeping myself on a strict plan to market my business. You are sure to see results if you stick to a strict plan and do each task on a consistent basis.

Your daily marketing plan should be a part of your master marketing plan for your business. Start with your overall goal like – I want to make $50 per day. In order to get there you will need to make X amount of sales. In order to make X about of sales you will need Y amount of visitors. Break down each part of your plan until you get to the individual marketing tasks that will get you there.

One of the essentials in internet marketing is having an autoresponder service. We all try to keep our costs to a minimum but this is one thing you cannot do business without. There are a handful of items I will say are absolute must haves and are worth spending money on and an autoresponder is definitely in the top three.

Keeping in contact with your prospects is absolutely essential to your success. It has been said that a person must see an ad at least 7 times before they act on it. This means you need to constantly keep in contact with them. The best way to do that is with an automated system. It would be nearly impossible to keep up with sending out emails to every prospect without the help of an autoresponder. It also allows you to create a campaign of emails in a specific order so that there is no way you will miss sending anything.

Using an automated system also helps you to create a relationship with your prospect. If they keep seeing messages from you in their inbox they won’t forget about you. They will also keep on getting helpful hints and tips from you which makes you an expert in your field. People want to buy from experts. Building your reputation is extremely important.

My favorite reason for using an autoresponder is that you can be sending out marketing material to a prospect and not even be working! The service does it for you. All you need to do is set up a campaign ahead of time and save it. This means you can be on vacation in the Caribbean and your prospects continue to get messages from you. What could be better then that?

There are many different services that you can use. Two services I have tried and had great success with are GetResponse and aWeber. I highly recommend signing up for one of these services immediately. They both have great tutorials and helpful information to get you started.

The amazing thing about internet marketing is that you are able to open up the exposure of your business to the world. The amount of people that can see your website is exponentially greater then the people who you would have access to in the traditional methods of network marketing.

Reason # 1 – the number of people you can reach on the internet is greater then the number of people you could reach in your own life.

Traditionally, you would be told by your sponsor to make a list of friends, family, neighbors, association members, basically anyone you know. Then you are supposed to make a presentation to these people or have a party at your house where you present the opportunity. I don’t know about you but this is extremely unappealing to me. Calling all my friends and family and giving them a sales pitch is the absolute last thing I want to do. This is why I found internet marketing. It’s a new and better way of running a network marketing business.

Reason # 2 – the internet is working for you while you are doing other things with your time.

Having a web site to capture all the information about your prospects is an amazing thing. Someone could be searching online at 2AM while you are sleeping, find your business and sign up in your downline…all while you are in bed. That’s not to say that there is a lot of work that went into that web site, and creating the links that you propsect found, but it’s still pretty great.

Reason # 3 – your web site does the selling for you, eliminating the rejection for you.

If your prospect visits you page and reads more about your opportunity and is not interested at all, you will never have to hear the rejection. On the other hand, you will hear from the smart people who think your opportunity is amazing! Those are the calls and emails you want to get everyday, not hang ups.

There are tons more reasons why internet marketing is the way to go; these are just my top three reasons. The income potential is huge with internet marketing alone so using it in combination with network marketing is absolute genius!

A high converting capture page is one of the most important things an internet marketer can have. The capture page is probably the first time your prospect is “meeting” you and you don’t have much time to get them to opt-in.

There are a few simple rules to follow to optimize your capture page. The first thing is that your capture page should have only one action – “sign up here” or “enter your e-mail for more information.” Whatever phrase you decide to put on your submit button should be the only call to action on the page. If there are other links or too many choices then you will lose their attention and lose the opt-in.

Be clear on what you are offering. Your prospect is giving you valueable information – their e-mail address. You must be clear on what you are giving the prospect in return for their e-mail address. Use phrases like “sign up for this free course,” or “click here for your free report.” Make sure they know exactly what they are getting for their information.

Adding pictures, graphics, or videos to your capture page can also help to increase your conversion rate. You still want to keep this page very simple and not have too much going on. A clean and simple picture or video can really add to your capture page.

Keep your opt-in box above the fold on your web page. You don’t want to make the prospect have to scroll to far down onto your page in order to opt in. It should be showing on the page before they need to start scrolling.

Use compelling copy. Make strong statements on this page that will entice your prospect to want more information from you. This may be your only chance to get them to sign up for what you are offering so make sure your page is very compelling.

These are some of the tactics you can use to increase your conversion rate on your capture page.

There are so many different ways to market your website online.  One very effective method is forum marketing.  Before I get into this topic, you should know that its definitely not an overnight formula, it takes time for this method to build up significant results. 

You always begin your marketing efforts with taking a look at your target market.  What forums do you think your target market would visit?  Do a google search for forums related to your topic or related to your target market.  Make a list of the forums and visit each one.  Read through them a little bit to get a feel for the people who visit the forum.  Be careful not to waste endless hours going through forums though, it’s easy to get sucked in!

Once you have 3- 5 forums you think are good for your target market, set up an account and create a signature with a link to the page you want to market.  A good page to point to is your squeeze page.

Start by introducing yourself in the forum and then start answering some posts.  Your number one goal in the forums is to be helpful to the other members.  DO NOT blatantly advertise your website or opportunity in a forum post.  No one responds to this positively.  It’s just not a good tactic.  You want to become a respected member of the community.  Add insightful comments and help people.  If you do this then the other members will be much more inclined to click on your signature link.  If you post useless comments or advertisements you signature link will be ignored.

With forum marketing you want to be consistent and create a reputation for yourself.  Set a goal to make at least 5 posts on each of the 3-5 forums you have picked out each day.  If you make 5 posts on 5 forums everyday that is 15 fresh links out there on the web pointing to your site.  This is what we want!  A good number of links pointing to your squeeze pages will increase views which will then increase sign ups.  Write down on a piece of paper your forum choices and make a tally everyday of the postings you make – like a forum marketing to do list.  This will help you to stay on track.  I hope you found this information helpful.  I’d love to hear about your successes in forum marketing!
